Falling. Ouch. </title><description>&lt;p&gt;Been in a real slump lately. Fallen into old meat eating habits; fried chicken, Italian subs, hamburgers, even Chinese food and it&amp;#8217;s all been delivered and consumed alone at home. I have surpassed my earlier lowest points. Ugh. So today I am changing it up, cleaning the house and making empanada. Soyrizo potato empanadas to be exact. So what if I&amp;#8217;m in a huge fight with the BFF, totally lonely and sex deprived, and have a house filled with injured pets, I&amp;#8217;m going to put it all behind me with cooking the pain away. &lt;/p&gt;

Day 3 of my lifestyle change and so far my carnivorous tendencies seem to be losing out to my will to live!  Watching &amp;#8220;forks over knives&amp;#8221; again helped solidify my resolve. Meat is sorta grossing me out all if a sudden. I have found homes for all the meat products and went shopping and filled my deli drawer with quick to fix meatless options like tofurkey slices and Quorn patties. I&amp;#8217;m even on my period and not craving salty fatty foods. I&amp;#8217;m really excited about the smoothie I&amp;#8217;m making for bfst. Still feeding the furry beasts chicken though. This is not a political choice but a health one. &lt;/p&gt;

I have to admit that I did enjoy some salty fatty salami which I am now fairly grossed out about. But had a nice bowl of corn pasta with basil, olive oil, and parmesan for dinner. It was super yummy. I love simple pasta like that. Normally I add peas to it. It isn&amp;#8217;t u heard of for me to not eat meat for a few days at home, but when I go out is another story. That will be a new test. Today I am removing all the purchased meats from the fridge because I found a home for them. Having dinner with an occasional meat eating veg head and we are going to watch Forks Over Knives together to really solidify my resolve. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m hoping to have more energy. I woke up feeling rested at least. Going on a hike and afterwards I plan on having a green smoothie with the yummy chard I picked up yesterday. I&amp;#8217;m really excited about this diet change.&lt;/p&gt;</description><link>http://chubbyunicorngoesgreen.tumblr.com/post/21975140318</link><guid>http://chubbyunicorngoesgreen.tumblr.com/post/21975140318</guid><pubDate>Sat, 28 Apr 2012 09:38:49 -0400</pubDate></item><item><title>Day One</title><description>&lt;p&gt;When watching &lt;a href="http://www.forksoverknives.com/" title="Forks Over Knives" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.forksoverknives.com/"&gt;http://www.forksoverknives.com/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/a&gt; yesterday I had a breakthrough; I am such an addict that food is my new cocaine, and fattening food gives off the same euphoric feeling as sex and drugs.  Since I am neither getting laid or currently a coke whore in any manner of the word I am a totally fat and slovenly.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So I am going to slowly go veg head.  As the little girl who proclaimed she was going to be a &amp;#8220;meatatarian,&amp;#8221; this is big.  I mean I&amp;#8217;ve done it before.  Last year March I gave up meat to protest our involvement in Libya.  Not that it made any sense, but after the beef fest of St. Patricks day I was kinda repulsed by it all, and I had watched Food Inc. hung over from said beef fest and had a wicked case of the p.m.s.  Anyway it is totally doable.  What really made me want to do this change were the studies done that going green can actually reverse disease, and almost prevent certain cancers.  Pretty cool stuff.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So today I get rid of the meats, and most dairy.  Keeping the huevos though, love me some egg white action.  Maybe in time I can let them go.  I&amp;#8217;m not saying I WILL NEVER EAT MEAT AGAIN, but I will say I will try.  Bacon is the heroin of meats, just sayin I&amp;#8217;m sure I will relapse a time or two.&lt;/p&gt;
